Step aboard the historic flagship SS Rotterdam!
The steamship Rotterdam is a four-star hotel and the largest ocean liner ever built in the Netherlands. As the former flagship of the Holland-America Line and cruise ship, the ss Rotterdam has sailed many oceans since 1959. Nowadays, the ship is permanently moored in the Maashaven in Rotterdam, near Katendrecht. Onboard, the history of the ship is very tangible. Onboard the former cruise ship is the hotel, with 254 hotel rooms in three special themes: 'Original', 'Manhattan' and 'Bahamas'. These illustrate the voyages the ss Rotterdam made between 1959 and 2000. The rooms are recognizable by the design style from the fifties, with original elements. They have free Wifi access. Guests can also relax in the restaurants Club Room and Lido and the bars Oceans Bar and Captain Lounge. Furthermore, there are 12 different authentic halls and 29 meeting rooms for meetings. The ss Rotterdam is easy to reach by car or public transport. From metro Rijnhaven, bus 77 takes about 10 minutes. There's a large paid car park on the quay. You can also rent an (electric) bike.
